Well, it isn’t Monday, but we have had someone recently join our cast and we were so excited we couldn’t wait until next week. We are thrilled to announce that Joe Falocco will be joining us to play the Vicomte de Valvert, and the Capuchin Friar who marries Roxanne and Christian. We met Joe through his stellar work as a professor of Shakespeare in Performance at Texas State University. Joe is a man of many talents, an actor, a teacher, a director, and a man who gets things done. He is also a man who will make you laugh until you can’t get a breath in because he steals every scene in which he appears. We are so grateful that he can be part of our production.
Outside of The Archive Theater, Joe has performed for the Kentucky, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin Shakespeare Festivals. He has also worked for the Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern and spent a year on tour with the Shenandoah Shakespeare Express. Austin-area credits include Roat in Wait Until Dark and Melvin P. Thorpe in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (both at TexARTS in Lakeway). Most recently, he played Capulet in Romeo and Juliet for the Florida Shakespeare Theatre. Dr. Falocco is an Associate Professor of English at Texas State University and the author of Reimagining Shakespeare’s Playhouse: Early Modern Staging Conventions in the Twentieth Century (Boydell and Brewer, 2010).
